Emily R. O'Neill, Poughkeepsie HS, Class of 2004, Poughkeepsie, NY

Designed her international newsletter, Becoming Yourself, to empower middle school girls by promoting the inspiring life of Eleanor Roosevelt. She also mentors some of the recipients of her newsletter.



Courtney Michelle Petrouski, Apponequet Regional HS, Class of 2004, Assonet, MA

President of the Hathaway Park Renaissance Project, Courtney is restoring Assonet's only public park to its former grandeur to benefit the community.



Brandon James Quarles, Palm Harbor University HS, Class of 2004, Tarpon Springs, FL

Planned and supervised the construction of a playground for the local police department; and his mission work in Honduras showed him that the American standard of living is a blessing enjoyed by a minority.



Victoria Sehgal, Bard HS Early College, Class of 2004, Sunnyside, NY

Established a Community Service Club which introduces the elderly to computers and thereby helps reduce their alienation in our technology-driven society. This also helps the volunteers develop a new perception of the elderly.



Erin Turner, Salesian HS, Class of 2004, El Cerrito, CA

Spent eight weeks during the holidays locating disadvantaged authors of letters to Santa. She then raised funds and distributed gifts to these children from low-income families.



Cassie Warren, Stevens Point Area Sr. HS, Class of 2005, Stevens Point, WI

Is President of the Stevens Point Area Senior High Gay-Straight Alliance, where she strives to increase awareness, tolerance, and ultimately, acceptance of people of all orientations in her school community.
